Derek Edwards received his bachelor's of education degree in Kinesiology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Further studies included a specialist in English as a Second Language and a specialist in Special Education as well as, principal's qualifications.
Derek was a member of the Seoul Foreign School staff from 1994 to 2000 school year. During those years he taught physical education to kindergarten to grade 5. He loved teaching swimming in the new pool for both the spring and the fall seasons.
At SFS, Derek implemented and organized Invitational elementary soccer tournaments, as well as, coached the boys varsity soccer team. He was also the school wide director of sports during his last year.
