J.P. Rader graduated in 1979 from Seoul Foreign School in Seoul, Korea. He received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Asbury College in 1983, A Master's in Curriculum and Development from the Univ. of Southern Mississippi in 1997, a Master's in Educational Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University in 2006 and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Morehead State University in 2014.
J.P. was a member of the SFS staff from 1989-2009. He taught social studies from 1994-2009, and was athletic director from 1989-2005, as well as served as assistant principal from 2008-09. He was an associate professor of secondary education at Asbury University from 2009-16 while also serving as the Head Coach of the AU Women's Volleyball Team. J.P. has also served as the Secondary School Principal at GSIS in Suwon from 2016-19 and is currently the Head of School at International Community School (Singapore).
At SFS J.P. coached boys' varsity basketball from 1989-2009, girls' varsity volleyball from 1990-2009 and boys' varsity soccer 1989-90, 1993-94, and was the assistant boys' varsity soccer in 2003-04.
