Rod Jonas

Dr. Rod Jonas was a physical education teacher, athletic director and boys’ basketball coach at Seoul Foreign School in Seoul, Korea from 1977-79. He received his B.S. Degree in Physical Education from Augsburg College in 1977, his M.Ed. Degree in Education from North Dakota State University in 1981, and his Ph.D. Degree in Physical Education from the University of Minnesota in 1993.
 
Dr. Jonas’ 1979 boys’ basketball team were the Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference (KAIAC) Boys’ Basketball Champions and the 1979 Far East DODDS Champions and compiled an undefeated record of 23-0.
 
After coaching at SFS, Dr. Jonas was a teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Fargo South High School in Fargo, ND, an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Dr. Jonas’ University of Mary Men’s Basketball Team were North Dakota Collegiate Athletic Conference (NDCAC) Champions in 1991 and 1993.
 
Dr. Jonas is currently a Professor and the Dean of the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Mary and has held this position since 2009.
