Jack Moon

Jack Moon first came to SFS in the 1979-80 school year.  He received his BA in science education from Asbury College in 1973; his master's degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky in 1988 and later earned a second master's degree in sports medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.


He has been on the SFS faculty for most of his adult life, retiring in December 2019. During his tenure here, which was interrupted by 2 sabbaticals and a 3 year stint back in the States, he taught a variety of Jr. High and HS courses mostly focused on life science/biology.  He introduced an advanced science course in human physiology before helping to implement the IB diploma program. Upon returning from the States in 2007, he served as the Activities Director for a number of years and finished his career at SFS as the Alumni Director in December of 2019.

Sports has always played an important role in Jack's life so upon his arrival at SFS he found himself quickly involved in coaching a variety of sports.  Over the years he has coached varsity girls tennis, varsity boys tennis, varsity boys soccer, JV boys basketball and varsity boys basketball.
